Today we have mailed our christmas cards. As always, their motive is drawn by Tim Meyer-König. This year it was chosen according to our implementation of ship motion into our simulation software AENEAS.

19th Oct. 2005

The members of the BMBF research project PESOS had a project meeting at the shipyard Meyer Werft in Papenburg/Germany. TraffGo HT is not a direct member of the project, but we participate as consultants since we co-operate with Germanischer Lloyd. Some of the projects results will be implemented in the software AENEAS.
We thank Gijs Streppel for organizing the meeting and for showing us the huge yard.

10th - 12th Oct. 2005

Hubert Klüpfel visited Berlin for the TGF (Humboldt University). The conference Traffic and Granular Flow engages in the modelling of granular materials (e.g. powder, sand) and various forms of traffic. This year's topics were road traffic, pedestrians, ants etc.

28th - 30th Sept. 2005

Hubert Klüpfel and Tim Meyer-König visited PED2005 in Vienna. PED (Pedestrian and Evacuation Dynamics) is the only conference world wide which focusses on the simulation and analysis of pedestrian traffic. Scientists from all over the world participated. The first PED was organized by Hubert Klüpfel during his time at the university of Duisburg in 2001. Since then, the conference has grown to be the most important scientific meeting, which is held every two years. Excellent talks were held by participants from India, the Philippines and the USA. We presented the project for a guideline on microscopic evacuation simulations (RiMEA project), problems and results from the simulation of events involving big crowds (Hajj, World Youth Day) and the implementation of the influence of ship movement in AENEAS. The organization of the PED by Nathalie Waldau was excellent and we hereby want to thank her once again. Especially the food was outstanding, we're currently working on loosing some weight. :o) The next PED in 2007 will be organized by John Kerridge from Napier University in Edinburgh/Scottland. Our homepage is put online but it has to be improved in the following months.

TraffGo HT GmbH was separated from TraffGo GmbH. The old company was renamed into TraffGo Road GmbH and keeps the division for road traffic. We, TraffGo HT GmbH, get the divisions pedestrians and inland navigation. Except for the names, no further relation exists between the companies.
Nothing will change for our customers, since your contact persons will stay the same and the ongoing contracts are transferred to the new company.
